Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Rehabilitation

United Hospital System’s Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Rehabilitation Department is staffed with an outstanding team that includes physical therapists, athletic trainers and certified strength
and conditioning specialists.

Physical Therapy
Treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions, neuromuscular disorders or post-operative procedures including:

Lower back and neck pain;
Shoulder pain;
Knee, ankle or foot problems;
Vestibular/balance problems; and
Stroke rehabilitation.

Athletic Training
Treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders or post-operative procedures relating to:

Athletic or fitness injuries; and
Industrial injuries.

Various modalities may be used during treatment including ultrasound, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, whirlpool, biofeedback and electrical stimulation.

Referral
A referral from a physician is required for physical therapy or athletic training rehabilitation. Rehabilitation includes:

Evaluation;
Plan of Care;
Treatment Program; and
Home Exercise Program.
