DeBakey, world-renowned heart surgeon and Chancellor Emeritus of Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, the Michael E. DeBakey Heart Institute of Wisconsin at United Hospital System was created to provide the highest level of care to the patients and families of patients with cardiovascular disease. The Institute offers comprehensive services for cardiac patients from prevention, to cardiac catheterization, to open heart surgery. As a result, it is no longer necessary to travel to a major metropolitan area for the highest quality cardiac diagnostic services, surgery or cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and wellness services. 90% of all our cardiac surgery cases are performed “off-pump” which is also known as “beating heart surgery” with outstanding results.
